School of Energy

The School of Energy delivers a wide variety training programs for professionals with energy
responsibilities including architects, professional engineers, energy consultants, registered
energy advisors, facility operators, HVAC designers, contractors, developers and
professionals involved in corporate energy policy development.

For the building and development sector, we deliver classes related to the interpretation and
application of energy codes and standards. Our current curriculum focuses on requirements
under the Ontario Building Code (OBC) Sustainable Building standards (SB10 & SB12), the
Toronto Green Standard, CMHC and ENERGY STAR® for buildings.

We also offer courses in emerging energy fields including in the diverse renewable energy
sector including technologies that can be incorporated into the deep energy retrofit
opportunities for homes under the new Canada Greener Homes initiative.

Our course can be used towards professional development requirements for architects,
engineers and other professional disciplines. Individuals should verify the regulations from
their own professional associations regarding their applicable procedures.
