With a track-record of establishing indoor farms since 2016, Anchor is your partner for setting up community indoor farms. Our first farm was a lush green space in at a Markham, Ontario community where people apply their green thumb in support of their community – and of building food sovereignty in the city. Farm workers, volunteers and community members work together for multiple community benefits: The farm supplies a local food bank with produce that is organic certified, hosts tours and even offers companion classes on organic methods (e.g., Indoor Gardening & Farming). A similar concept is at work in our Brampton, Ontario Food Shed where the municipality is an integral partner. 

Community farms have many possible aims and configurations. That is why in the farm design process, Anchor works with you to answer the essential questions of what are the goals, who will use it, how and where will it operate and more. We also draw on the full range of growing techniques, from aquaponics to hydroponics and soil-based growing to get the best attributes of each.
